End of Year Surney

Hello Great Oaks parents,

This has been a fun and busy year with our PTO.  As the end of the year approaches, we would LOVE to get feedback from our GO families.

This year we have tried lots of new things that were suggested last year… a couple evening meetings, Goodies with Grandparents (during book fair week), breakfasts with mom and dad, fitness night, class t-shirts/spirit wear and Polar Express Movie Night, as well as some annually held events and fundraisers.  All these events/activities take a lot of planning and participation to be a success and we want to hear your thoughts on these events as well as other ideas moving forward for next year.

We have used the money we raised through our events, flower sales, Butterbraids,  Pizza kits, & spirit wear to fund and/or lower costs for field trips, assemblies, reading month parties, staff appreciation, classroom supplies and much, much more.

Please take a few minutes to take the following survey to help the PTO better serve our school.

April is Poetry Month

In Honor of Poetry Month, here is a Fun Poem.

Don’t Bring Camels in the Classroom

by Kenn Nesbitt

Don’t bring camels in the classroom.
Don’t bring scorpions to school.
Don’t bring rhinos, rats, or reindeer.
Don’t bring mice or moose or mule.

Pull your penguin off the playground.
Put your python in a tree.
Place your platypus wherever
you think platypi should be.

Lose your leopard and your lemur.
Leave your llama and your leech.
Take your tiger, toad, and toucan
anywhere but where they teach.

Send your wombat and your weasel
with your wasp and wolverine.
Hide your hedgehog and hyena
where you’re sure they won’t be seen.

Please get rid of your gorilla.
Please kick out your kangaroo.
No, the teacher didn’t mean it
when she called the class a “zoo.”
